Merseyside ( MUR-zee-syde) is a metropolitan and ceremonial county in North West England, with a population of 1.38 million. It encompasses the metropolitan Place centred on both banks of the humiliate reaches of the Mersey Estuary and comprises five metropolitan boroughs: Knowsley, St Helens, Sefton, Wirral and the city of Liverpool. The Liverpool Urban Area is the fifth most populous conurbation in England and dominates the geographic centre of the county, while the Birkenhead Urban Area dominates the Wirral Peninsula in the south.

Greater Manchester is a metropolitan county and comprehensive authority area in North West England, with a population of 2.8 million; comprising ten metropolitan boroughs: Manchester, Salford, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan. The county was created on 1 April 1974, as a outcome of the Local Government Act 1972, and designated a in action city region upon 1 April 2011. For the 12 years when 1974, the county had a two-tier system of local government; district councils shared knack with the Greater Manchester County Council. However, the metropolitan county continued to exist in feint and as a geographic frame of reference, and as a ceremonial county, with a Lord Lieutenant and a High Sheriff. Several county-wide facilities were co-ordinated through the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities amid 1985 and 2011.

West Sussex is a county in South East England on the English Channel coast. The ceremonial county comprises the shire districts of Adur, Arun, Chichester, Horsham, and Mid Sussex, and the boroughs of Crawley and Worthing. Covering an area of 1,991 square kilometres (769 sq mi), West Sussex borders Hampshire to the west, Surrey to the north, and East Sussex to the east. The county town and solitary city in West Sussex is Chichester, located in the south-west of the county. This was legally formalised with the establishment of West Sussex Council in 1888 but within the ceremonial Sussex. After the reorganisation of local processing in 1974, the ceremonial feat of the historic county of Sussex was divided into two separate counties, West Sussex and East Sussex. The existing East and West Sussex councils took manage respectively, with Mid Sussex and parts of Crawley brute transferred to the West Sussex administration from East Sussex.
In the 2011 census, West Sussex recorded a population of 806,900.

The county has a long chronicles of human treaty dating help to the Lower Paleolithic era. The Romans conquered West Sussex’s native Britons, and incorporated the area as a Roman province. During the Early Middle Ages, the Saxons fixed the area, establishing the Kingdom of Sussex in 477, which lasted until c. 827 when the kingdom was annexed by Wessex.

West Sussex has a range of scenery, including wealden, downland and coastal. The highest reduction of the county is Blackdown, at 280 metres (919 ft). It has a number of stately homes including Goodwood, Petworth House and Uppark, and castles such as Arundel Castle and Bramber Castle. Over half the county is protected countryside, offering walking, cycling and supplementary recreational opportunities.

Kent is a county in South East England and one of the house counties. It borders Greater London to the north-west, Surrey to the west and East Sussex to the south-west, and Essex to the north across the estuary of the River Thames; it faces the French department of Pas-de-Calais across the Strait of Dover. The county town is Maidstone. It is the fifth most populous county in England, the most populous non-Metropolitan county and the most populous of the home counties.

Kent’s economy is diversified: agriculture, haulage, logistics and tourism are various industries. Because of its orchards and allotments, Kent is known as “The Garden of England”. Northumberland is a county in Northern England, one of two counties in England which connect with Scotland. Notable landmarks in the county include Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle, Hadrian’s Wall and Hexham Abbey.

It is bordered by land upon three sides; by the Scottish Borders region to the north, County Durham and Tyne and Wear to the south, and Cumbria to the west.
